OUTDOOR ADVENTURES FOR WOMEN

 

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Leaders need to know how many people to expect.  If an event is cancelled for any reason, we will notify those who have registered.  Call the Center to pre register:  978-623-8321

 

Date:          Monday, Sept. 13   Time:  9 – 11:30 a.m.

Location:    Phillips Academy Bird Sanctuary

  Difficulty Level 2 Three Mile Walk

We’ll meet at the Center to walk together and return to the Center for coffee and muffins.

 

Date:         Wednesday, Oct. 20      Time:   9 – 12 Noon

Location:    Haggetts Pond      

                     Meet at the Center and carpool.

Difficulty Level 2+ four mile hike

Bring water, snack, sun block, and bug & tick repellent, a walking stick is helpful.  Binoculars and a camera are fun options.  Good walking shoes are essential.

All walks are rated on a scale of (1-5) where 1 is the easiest.  Rating includes but is not limited to: length of walk, terrain-even or uneven, expected degree of mud and wetness causing slippery conditions, change in elevation, crossing streams with/without bridges, rocks, etc.  Bring water, snack, sunblock, bug and tick repellent.  

A walking stick is helpful.  Binoculars and a camera are fun options.  Good walking shoes are essential. 

Sandals or flip flops cannot be worn for reasons of safety.       (Also there are no bathrooms available)

 

Thanks to the increased popularity of many of the hikes, we are forced to limit the number of participants to 20.  Therefore signing up ahead of time is essential.  Call the Senior Center to pre-register:  (978) 623-8321. 

Andover residents will have priority until 4 days prior to the adventure.  After that is will be open to the general public in order in which sign ups occur. 

Rain cancels hike.  Each adventure is a group hike with no alternative options.  We will carpool – be prepared to be a driver.

 

Medical and registration forms must be completed at the Senior Center before the date you participate in the first Adventure.  They will be emailed to you as well as available at the Center and can be returned to the Center directly by email if you prefer.
